In the first recording, ER argues that the US must fight communism by helping other nations and bettering its treatment of minorities at a speech in Independence, Missouri. Recording includes a brief introduction by Harry Truman. 

The second recording is the continuation of ER's speech. ER emphasizes the responsibility of individual Americans and their role in US leadership in the larger world.

The third recording is of ER answering audience questions. Topics include the United Nations, China, the USSR, and a non-military "peace force" as an alternative to the conventional US military.
